David can you please send a good picture of the upper fin? Was there a spike on the upper fin just in front of it? Very hard to see if you don't get it out of the water because is part of the fin and in parallel.

Hello my friends.

I gave you guys a headache with this shark. We were happy the leader broke after 1 hour fight.
I just wish we used the same cam we always use, that way you will be able to see it better like I did in person. :D
All I can tell you for sure 10000% is, it was not a hammerhead-thresher-tiger-mako or great white :P
All the one I listed above I know well from back home.
I played with some photos with Photoshop, I hope you can see the upper fin & tail better.
Look at the tail, there is an edge there, maybe that will help identify it.

Next time I will put it in the boat & we will go back to shore swimming  :violence-stickwhack:

Marios, look at the photos I posted above. I hope they help.
That's the best I could do. Next time, we will leave this cam back home.

David the pictures helped! My mistake, it's not a tzentroni. Never seen something this from close but from the books looks very similar to Sandbar Shark, although can't tell for sure because the upper fin looks smaller from the video but is not clear. It could also be a Spinner Shark but his head doesn't look that pointy from the video.

Ι dont know why i am the only one looking at a hammerhead (maybe because of the fire fumes i smoked today).

Smooth Hammerhead (Sphyrna Zygaena, a species that lives in the Med)

Image

The tail in your photos has the exact shape

Also if you freeze the video at some frames (11:49 and later) you can see the hammer shaped head as a white color. I hope im wrong

Re file, let me know what kind of fire fumes you smoked so next time I catch a sinagrida I will see a mermaid instead

Seriously though, at 11:49, what you see is the inchiku re

Hammerheads I know, caught a few of them in Mexico a few years back.
