Hello guys..
According to the information I could find online, the 1000 has aluminum body, aluminum rotor, aluminum spool, carbon fiber drag washers, more line capacity than 8000, 33 lbs drag, ratio 5.2:1 (41 in) & 2 oz (about 57gr ) more heavy.
It's a good reel but i don't understand why the gear ratio is the same like the 8000 5.2:1 BUT with only 36 in. Maybe it's a misprint.
I will have to check on this.
I still think the 8000 is enough for CY. It can handle all the fish we have here. With the right Pe4, you can put about 320 meters of line on it which is more than enough for 99.99% of the time you will go jigging.
The 10000 would be nice if we had bluefin, sharks, wahoos, Gt's eveywhere in CY  to really need an aluminum body, aluminum rotor, aluminum spool, carbon fiber drag & 33 lbs of drag.
Either way my friends, you can't go wrong with either reels especially when the price difference is a few $$.
Cheers

Ps: I know 57gr does not seem like too much weight on paper, but it does make a difference on your body jigging a whole day. food for thoughts!!..
